Day 1: Sapa – Sau Chua – Sa Seng – Hang Da – Hau Thao (L, D)
Group meeting for region information and tour briefing at 08.30. Leaving Sapa at 09.00 for a short road transfer along the national road 4D northeastwards to the trekking point. Trekking uphill on a large and rocky path along the narrow valley which runs between two high mountains passing two hamlets of the Black H’mong of Sa Pa Commune: Sau Chua and Sa Seng. The H’mong peoples here have just recently change their living way from sifting style into the sedentary one. So there are still a lot traces of the past time can be seen: rudimentary houses, stone wall around homes… Lunch break in the village.
After lunch, continue along the same trail gradually uphill the Den Thang mountain for an hour to Hang Da Village of the H’mong which sits at 1,800m height and over looking down the Muong Hoa Valley. Paying visit to several local homes.
Leaving Hang Da and enjoy easy walk on high elevation for ½ hour and the trail gets steeper and narrower downhill through Hau Chu Ngai Village which consists of some small hamlets scattering on rocky land. This portion of the trek offers chances for taking the best photos of landscapes.
Getting downhill for another hour along a dirt track to Thao Hong Den Village of Black H’mong minority at the center of Hau Thao Commune for homestay here.
Approx: 30 mins transfer/ 5-6 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch
Day 2: Hau Thao – Mount Silverstone – Lech Mong – Lech Dao (B, L)
After breakfast, continue our trek from Hau Thao along the footpaths towards Mount Silverstone. Lunch will be served at a nice place on the hill top. After lunch time, heading down to the Black H’mong village of Lech. On the way you will have stunning views of the valleys and rice paddy terraces in this remote and beautiful countryside. As other Black H’mong villages, the village locates high on the mountains. You will visit a blacksmith family and inside their local traditional house, you will be charmed by the unmixed culture of the Black H’mong minority through the interesting stories told by the hospitality hosts. The Black H’mong is very good at making agricultural tools, wooden furniture, musical instruments and jewelry. They are also famous for their hemp production and indigo dying.
You then take a descending to the bottom of the valley. The view is beautiful and soon you will reach to the Red Dao village of Lech where you can experience more of the daily life & culture of the colorful Red Dao minority. After that transfer back to Sapa by car.
